چکیده

This paper presents the prediction of piezo-resistive behavior under quasi-static uniaxial compression loads using Percolation Excluded Volume (PEV) approach. The PEV approach is supplemented by Finite Element (FE) simulations to calculate displacements Carbon Nano-Tubes (CNTs) embedded in a polymer matrix. number contacts between CNTs determined minimum distance threshold (tunnelling distance). FE model based on experimental parameters and CNT data. carried out LS-Dyna solver made it possible variation electrical resistance, which was found be accordance with its counterpart. resistance increases when are mostly oriented orthogonally loading direction. For other orientations, decreases.

Quasi-static Axial Compression of thin-walled Circular Composite Tubes

Assessing the behavior of composite structures which are subjected to impact loads is one of the important subjects in the field of mechanical sciences. Using thin-walled tubes which collapsed and absorbed the impact energy is a well-known method to prevent damages to the other parts of the structures. In this paper, deformations, crushing length, peak load, mean force and energy absorption cap...

Mode Jumping of an Isogrid Panel under Quasi-static Compression

A wide column test of a composite isogrid panel subjected to quasi-static, axial compression is modeled with a hybrid-static dynamic computational method. The data from the test panel exhibited discontinuous responses in the compressive load for slowly increased end-shortening. The computational model was developed to corroborate these discontinuities with the phenomenon of mode jumping. Mode j...

Fracture behavior of Zr55Cu30Al10Ni5 bulk metallic glass under quasi-static and dynamic compression

Fracture behavior of Zr55Cu30Al10Ni5 bulk metallic glass was investigated under quasi-static compression at strain rate of 10/s using an Instron testing machine and dynamic split Hopkinson bar (SHPB) compression with strain rate of about 1900–4300/s. Pronounced strain softening, especially past the peak stress, was observed under SHPB tests and compared with the distinct flow serrations under q...

Evaluating the Validity of Quasi-Static Analysis for Prediction of Vessel Mooring Line Forces

Quasi-Static analysis of moored vessels is vastly used for engineering designs, as a substitute to the numerical simulation of dynamic mooring analysis. Yet, the level of validity of the results of quasi-static analysis is a matter of discussion. In the present study, the validation of the assumptions behind the quasi-static analysis of mooring vessels is examined with application of a dynamic ...
